CEO's Welcome Message

It is my distinct pleasure to welcome you to the website of the National Information and Communication Technology Company Limited (iGovTT). 

The Government of Trinidad and Tobago has intensified its focus on the development and deployment of Information and Communications Technologies (ICTs) for advancing the interest of society and its citizens toward the attainment of a knowledge-based society.  Since the inception of the National ICT Strategy – fastforward – in 2003, significant strides have been made toward promoting and developing ICT as a mainstream industry.  This diversification is necessary in order to facilitate the country’s movement away from energy dependence and towards more sustainable drivers of economic and social development.   Such strides include sustained growth in the market for mobile telecommunications; a boom in private investments that have resulted in greater affordability of Internet connectivity to end users; and the ongoing deployment of higher bandwidth capacities to support growing demand for Internet usage. Significantly, telecommunications revenue now contributes 2.6% to our National GDP and is expected to increase by an estimated 300% over the next three years. 

In order to continue this forward thrust, the National ICT Company Limited, (iGovTT) was incorporated in July 2009 as a State Enterprise.  Formerly the National ICT Centre within the Ministry of Public Administration, iGovTT now stands ready to continue to drive initiatives that seek to utilize ICTs as one of the foundations of our personal, social and business activities. This will in turn lead the way toward Trinidad and Tobago’s achievement of developed country status by the year 2020.

We at iGovTT are passionate about realizing Trinidad and Tobago’s full potential through ICT.  Our talented team of young men and women are committed to realizing the gains to be enjoyed by you, your family and your community in the shortest possible time.   Our mission now is to advance the creation of a seamless, integrated e-Government that will better serve the citizens of Trinidad and Tobago and ultimately the wider Caribbean region.
